Campus Safety Screening

Colorado State University is committed to providing a safe and welcoming community for all students.  With that goal in mind the University implemented the current format of the Campus Safety Screening program in July 2021 as a result of recent changes to Colorado Revised Statute 23-5-106.5 which guides the manner in which colleges and universities conduct safety screening. This program is administered by the Office of Support and Safety Assessment as a post-admission process for all Admitted Students. The Campus Safety Screening program is separate from the non-academic conduct questions new students answer as part of the application for admission. Each Admitted Student must answer certain Campus Safety Screening Questions to complete their enrollment before attending any classes and before receiving a University Housing assignment. Responses to the questions will be confidentially reviewed by the Office of Support and Safety Assessment in a multi-tiered assessment to identify potential safety concerns which may impact the University community, and to help allocate resources to support those students who may benefit from resources available through the University. Responses are not intended to be used to exclude students from the CSU experience. Any questions concerning the Campus Safety Screening Program may be directed to Support and Safety Assessment at supportandsafety@colostate.edu.
